Brand Positioning Audit Framework

Problem

Marketing and growth teams often operate with a strong sense of what they do but a weak articulation of why it matters more than the alternatives. Without a systematic positioning audit, messaging drifts, competitive gaps go unnoticed, and campaigns optimise for activity rather than differentiation.

Approach

Designed a repeatable audit framework that evaluates a brand across four dimensions: positioning clarity, messaging consistency across channels, competitive differentiation, and audience alignment. Each dimension is assessed against a structured rubric built from primary research: customer conversations, competitor analysis, and channel-level content review. Findings are synthesised into a gap map and prioritised recommendation set.

Key Outputs

A structured audit output covering positioning gaps, competitive blind spots, messaging inconsistencies by channel, and a prioritised action plan. Delivered as a working document and executive summary suitable for leadership review.

Impact

Used to drive positioning rework for organisations whose messaging had grown diffuse across channels. The framework surfaces what is fixable quickly versus what requires deeper strategic work, making it actionable for marketing teams without specialist strategy resourcing.
